Business Transformation: How Organizations Reinvent Themselves
The Business Transformation course at ICL was an experience that changed my perspective on how organizations work. Before this course, I thought digital transformation was simply implementing new technologies. I was completely wrong.
What I learned:
True business transformation begins with people, not technology. I learned frameworks like Kotter's for leading change, and I understood that without an organizational culture to support it, any digital initiative is doomed to fail.
One of the concepts that impacted me the most was the idea of "digital mindset." It's not about using digital tools, but about thinking differently about how to create value. Organizations that just copy technology without changing their mindset are simply spending money without results.
How I applied it:
In my previous job, I saw a transformation initiative fail precisely because management implemented a new system without training the team or explaining the "why" behind the change. I now understand that communication and change management are just as important as the technology itself.
Personal reflection:
This course made me see that as a future technical leader, my role won't be just choosing the right technology, but ensuring the team understands and adopts the change. Transformation is a human process, and that's something you don't learn in a programming course.
